WASHINGTON – Six people were hurt after a crash involving two vehicles near Union Station in D.C. Wednesday morning, officials say.
Police say the crash happened just before 8 a.m. at the intersection of Massachusetts Avenue and North Capitol Street NW. The driver of an SUV — who a witness tells 蜜桃视频app was trying to beat a light — struck a pole and three pedestrians.
“He ran on the sidewalk,” witness Lavenia Bailey says. “He hit the lamp pole, he took the lamp pole up out (of) the ground.”
Bailey says one victim was pinned under the SUV, one was lying on the sidewalk and one was lying in the street.
“No one was moving, and I’m just praying that they all make it,” Bailey says. “I’m just praying they all will survive.”
The SUV also struck another vehicle, and police tell 蜜桃视频app six people total were injured in the incident. Two of the pedestrians, including the one trapped under the vehicle, were taken to a hospital in critical condition.

Streets in the area were expected to remain closed for several hours after the incident.
