Matt About Town x Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic: The unsung heroes of the Wish process; honoring the parents of Wish Kids

Matt About Town x Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic: Saluting Wish Parents of the DC region

Over the course of the month of April, Ƶapp has been highlighting the work that Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic does in the D.C. area’s community.

During Ƶapp’s collaboration with the nonprofit, we’ve introduced the community to Wish Kids from all over the D.C. area. We’ve also talked to those who donate and help grant wishes in the community, and have even learned from doctors about how wishes can be their own form of medicine.

Today’s story is the final piece of Ƶapp’s Make-A-Wish collaboration, via Ƶapp’s Matt Kaufax and his “Matt About Town” segment.

For our final story of World Wish Month, Ƶapp is highlighting the unsung heroes who battle critical illnesses right alongside these incredible Wish Kids and bear a heavy burden themselves: the inspiring Wish Parents of the D.C. region.

Check out Matt’s video, which showcases how families of Wish Kids make the ultimate sacrifices, and experience wishes with their children to give them strength and hope.

Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic granted 386 wishes in the DMV community last year, and this year, they said they hope to grant even more with your help.

The nonprofit said around a third of the kids who get wishes in the D.C. area each year are those with parents or guardians whom are serving or have served in the military.

On April 29, please join Ƶapp and Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic in celebrating World Wish Day, commemorating the anniversary of the founding of Make-A-Wish. April is also both the Month of the Military Child and World Wish Month.

There are just a few days left to contribute to MAWMA’s Dream Maker fund, which supports the children of military families who qualify for Wishes in the DMV. To donate, you can visit .

“Matt About Town” airs every Tuesday and Thursday on Ƶapp at 7:45 a.m., and runs throughout the rest of the day on 103.5 FM. His video pieces are always posted on wtop.com.
