WASHINGTON 鈥斅燬trong to severe storms closed out the weekend and there’s an unsettled, rainy forecast for the rest of the workweek.
Storm Team 4 Meteorologist Lauryn Ricketts said commuters can expect a dry Monday morning commute, but another chance for storms may hit the region again Monday evening. Temperatures on Monday will be in the 70s and 80s, but the hot weather returns on Tuesday.
“It will feel like the dead of summer by Tuesday with high humidity and temperatures around 90 degrees,” Ricketts said.
It will be mostly dry during the day on Tuesday, but strong showers and thunderstorms are expected for the second half of the day.
That chance of rain will carry over into Wednesday, though the temperatures will be slightly cooler with highs expected to be in the lower to mid 80s.
Thursday’s highs may only reach the upper 70s and there’s a chance of rain for the afternoon.
Many parts of the area were affected by severe thunderstorm watches and warnings Sunday, and some areas saw hail and damaging winds.
