Tickets for star-studded concert in Charlottesville given away Friday

WASHINGTON — A large crowd of music fans is expected to gather Friday morning at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. Starting at 10 a.m, a limited number of free tickets to the star-studded Sept. 24 “” will be given away.

The concert was organized by the Dave Matthews Band to foster a spirit of unity following last month’s , which is the band’s hometown.

Other performers include Ariana Grande, Chris Stapleton, Justin Timberlake and Pharrell Williams.

People can start lining up no earlier than 8 a.m. outside John Paul Jones Arena.

You can only get a ticket if you have a U.Va. ID or a state-issued ID proving you live in one of these central Virginia counties: Albemarle, Augusta, Buckingham, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa, Nelson, Orange or Rockingham.

The organizers had been accepting online requests for tickets, but the deadline to make those requests has passed.
