Crash scene on northbound I-295 cleared

WASHINGTON 鈥� A serious single-car crash early Thursday morning temporarily shut down all northbound lanes on Interstate 295 in Southeast D.C., just above Malcolm X Avenue.

Officials cleared the scene around 9:40 a.m.

The cause of the crash is unknown.

D.C. police said the driver has been transported to a local hospital. The extent of the driver’s injuries are not known at this time.

Officials said there were no other passengers in the car.
