NEW YORK (AP) — New York Yankees starting pitcher Ryan ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵapps left Saturday’s game against the Toronto Blue Jays in the fourth inning because of left forearm discomfort.
The Yankees said ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵapps will undergo further imaging.
With runners at first and second, ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵapps threw a sweeper out of the strike zone to Myles Straw and felt pain.
After the pitch, ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵapps circled the mound and called for catcher Austin Wells.
Manager Aaron Boone and a trainer came out to check on ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵapps, and Yerry De Los Santos entered the game.
Acquired from the Marlins in January, ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵapps has a 3.60 ERA in 25 starts this year. He allowed two runs and eight hits in 3 1/3 innings before leaving the game.
New York has had 15 players go on the injured list this season, including starting pitchers Max Fried and Carlos Rodón. Fried has missed 58 games with a pair of bone bruises in his left elbow and Rodón returned from a elbow injury on Tuesday.
