Coco Gauff supports younger brother’s baseball dreams but finds the sport a bit slow

鈥淚t鈥檚 my brother, so I鈥檓 going to watch. I definitely think he gets more enjoyment watching tennis than I do watching baseball,鈥 Coco said at on Friday.

Gauff, the No. 7-ranked singles player in tennis, had been asked about the possibility of Codey, who has committed to play at the University of Missouri, getting selected in the upcoming .

鈥淚 don鈥檛 really watch the MLB too much. I鈥檝e been to some games. It鈥檚 not something I鈥檒l follow until the World Series,鈥 she said.

鈥淢y brother, I go to his games when I鈥檓 in town. I go to all the ones that I鈥檓 able to go to,鈥 Gauff continued. “It is a bit of a slower, more boring sport. If he wasn鈥檛 playing, I don鈥檛 think I would be watching as much.”

Codey Gauff is from Delray Beach, Florida.

The 22-year-old Coco noted that her grandparents were heavily involved in youth baseball.

鈥淚 grew up around it,鈥 she said. “I was calling the games, doing the score for some of the games. I know pretty much all the rules and stuff.

鈥淲hen it鈥檚 a good game, it鈥檚 great. I prefer to watch it live,鈥 she continued. 鈥淚 don鈥檛 know how I鈥檓 going to be doing when he goes to college. I don鈥檛 know what his situation actually is going to be. I guess it depends on his draft pick and everything.鈥
