WASHINGTON — The Washington Wizards topped the Boston Celtics, 133-132, at Verizon Center Monday night, but John Wall was in tears after the game.
As , Wall met 6-year-old Miyah Telemaque-Nelson in March, after she had been diagnosed with Burkitt’s lymphoma last year. Wall had been writing Miyah’s name on his shoes all season, and started a social-media campaign to help Miyah meet Nicki Minaj and get one of the singer’s .
Miyah died Monday morning, and on Monday evening Wall’s shoes read “RIP Miyah.”
