March: “Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifianakis: President Barack Obama” as well as several music videos defined March.
April: “Kicked in the head by a train” had people guessing if it was an April Fools prank while a tiny hamster with a burrito ranked high on the cute list.
May: “World’s Toughest Job – #worldstoughestjob – Official Video” and a drag queen’s historic win made YouTube fame.
June: “Meghan Trainor – All About That Bass” as well as World Cup videos epitomized the month.
July: “Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17 Crash Moment In Donetsk Oblast Of Ukraine, Jul 17 2014” marked much of the month, while more lighthearted clips, such as a dog passing out from excitement, went viral.
August: “The Islamic State (Full Length)” — a 42-minute documentary — spread word about the controversial group. Also, the month was marked by the popularity of the Ice Bucket Challenge.
September: “Mutant Giant Spider Dog (SA Wardega)” became the month’s top-trending video, and the聽shocking elevator cam footage of聽football player Ray Rice’s assault on his fianc茅 that became one of the most controversial stories of the year.
October: “10 Hours of Walking in NYC as a Woman” as well as a viral prank drew YouTube views in October.
November: “Star Wars: The Force Awakens Official Teaser” as well as a Beyonce music video defined the month.
December: “John Lewis Christmas Advert 2014 – #MontyThePenguin” and a聽YouTube celeb embracing his true self turned heads on YouTube during the month.
