WASHINGTON — The University of Maryland women’s basketball team was sent off to the Final Four in style.
The Lady Terps beat Louisville, 76-73, on Tuesday, and on Sunday they’ll face undefeated Notre Dame in Nashville with a spot in the NCAA women’s championship game on the line.
On Thursday, the team left for Music City, but not before a pep rally at the Comcast Center complete with fans, cheerleaders and the band sending them off — as well as university president Wallace Low, who said “We’re all excited … they’re gonna go and kick butt.”
