Still going down, gas prices slip 6 cents

WASHINGTON – Gas prices keep going down.

The latest ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµapp Pain in the Gas Survey shows the average price of a gallon of unleaded regular is $3.83, down 6 cents from last week.

Mid-grade held steady at $4.10 a gallon. Premium is down by 7 cents to $4.17. Diesel prices are down 4 cents to $4.16.

The average for regular fuel this week is cheapest in Virginia, where regular is down to $3.75. The average is just two cents higher in Maryland at $3.77. Gas is $4.02 in the District.

One year ago, on May 19, 2011, a gallon of unleaded regular was $4.09.
