Former astronaut, US Sen. John Glenn dies at 95

WASHINGTON — Former astronaut, US Sen. John Glenn has died, CBS News reports. He was 95 years old.

Hank Wilson with Ohio State University’s John Glenn College of Public Affairs said Wednesday that the Glenn was at the James Cancer Hospital.

Glenn became the first American to orbit the Earth in 1962. He served as a U.S. senator from Ohio from 1974 to 1999.
