WASHINGTON 鈥� There鈥檚 a deadline for the appointment of a new school superintendent for Montgomery County, and school board president Michael Durso says he is confident the school district will have someone in place by the July 1 deadline.
Durso told he expects to have someone in place 鈥渨ell in advance鈥� of the deadline.

Montgomery County鈥檚 Board of Education has been criticized in the past for being secretive about the process of choosing a superintendent, but members have said candidates often don鈥檛 want their names made public while in the middle of a job search.
Montgomery County has hired a search firm, to conduct the search. The same firm was used to hire school chiefs in previous searches. The same firm has been used by neighboring school districts.
