WASHINGTON — A serious crash involving a bus shut down the southbound lanes of Interstate 95 north of Baltimore for more than four hours on Monday.

Susquehanna Hose Company, which provides fire service for the City of Havre De Grace, tweeted that more than 25 people were injured. Multiple EMS and ambulance services responded to help transport patients.

Maryland State Police said that were on the bus at the time of the wreck. An adult and one child were flown to the hospital.

The northbound lanes reopened to traffic after a medical helicopter left the scene about 11 a.m. on Monday. The southbound lanes reopened after 2 p.m.

Maryland State Police said a passenger car that lost control and clipped the front of the bus appears to have led to the crash, which remains under investigation. No charges have been filed.
