McDonald’s tests pumpkin spice fries in Japan

WASHINGTON — The pumpkin-spice craze has hit a new high — or low.

The signature flavor of fall is no longer just for lattes and muffin mixes. In Japan, McDonald’s is serving pumpkin and chocolate covered french fries, .

The fries, drizzled in a sweet chocolate and pumpkin sauce, are available from Sept. 28 through Halloween.

The new addition is a spin on the ‘McChoco Potato,’ which . These fries, also only available in Japan, are covered in two different types of chocolate sauces.

If a ticket to Tokyo is not in your budget, the closest thing you’ll find to this sweet-and-salty treat is , which are available at a handful of restaurants in Texas.
