DC police arrest man in NW pharmacy armed robbery

D.C. police arrested a man in connection with an armed robbery of a pharmacy Friday.

Police said Jamari Brighthaupt, 25, of Southeast D.C., entered a pharmacy in the 1700 block of 11th Street NW wearing a black ski mask and demanded prescription medications.

He then, “jumped over the counter and made additional demands while brandishing a firearm,” police said.

Brighthaupt then fled the pharmacy with stolen prescription drugs, according to police.

Police located him after he crashed his vehicle. Brighthaupt then ran on foot in the 1500 block of North Capitol Street NW.

A firearm and prescription drugs were recovered at the scene, according to police.

Brighthaupt was charged with robbery while armed (gun), possession of a firearm during a crime of violence, felon in possession of a firearm, resisting arrest and similar charges.
