WASHINGTON 鈥� A Southeast D.C. elementary school will reopen after undergoing thorough cleaning to rid the school of a monthslong bedbug and pest infestation.
After weeks of in Northeast, students will be able to return to Savoy Elementary School on Monday, Feb. 27. The聽school, once infested with bedbugs, rats and mice, now has newly installed carpet, according to a Facebook post by Savoy Elementary. All “soft materials” have been replaced.
Parents of Savoy Elementary students have . The Department of General Services began cleaning on Feb. 3. Students have been attending classes at Ferebee-Hope Elementary, about five miles away from Savoy, since Feb. 8.
