WASHINGTON 鈥� D.C. police released surveillance video Wednesday showing the fatal shooting of a D.C. grandmother earlier this week.
Vivian Marrow, 68, was in a motorized wheelchair on her way to the store when she was shot in the head about 10:15 a.m. Monday in the 2400 block of Elvans Road Southeast, police said.
The video appears to show one young man chasing after another down a nearly empty sidewalk. The two dart around Marrow who is operating her wheelchair which comes to an abrupt stop.
While the faces of the men in the video are difficult to see, it appears the shooter stops and looks back at Marrow and decides to give up his chase and run the other way.
Police, who initially believed Marrow was shot in an exchange of gunfire, said Tuesday they believe the shooter was aiming at someone else nearby.
Another man suffered gunshot wounds in the shooting and was taken to the hospital in stable condition.
Marrow’s death stunned her family and the community where she was to neighborhood children.
Police earlier this week described the suspect as a black man wearing a silver jacket and black face mask.
Police are for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the suspect.
