WASHINGTON 鈥� A man jumped the fence outside the White House Tuesday afternoon and was promptly arrested.
A man jumped the fence in the area of 17th and G streets in Northwest at about 4:10 p.m., said a D.C. Fire and EMS spokesperson. The man, whose name has not yet been released, is in police custody.
The fence jump prompted a brief lockdown of the White House.
The fence jumper may have a minor injury to his hand, said the D.C. Fire and EMS spokesperson. He was transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation.
Authorities have not released any additional details about the incident.
Last year, the Secret Service added a to the top of the fence to deter would-be White House fence jumpers.
