WASHINGTON–Late-night commuters in Prince George’s County may want to avoid taking the Inner Loop of the Beltway home Tuesday聽night and early Wednesday morning.
Beginning at 9聽p.m. Tuesday night, the Maryland State Highway Administration will shut down three lanes on Interstate 495 on the bridge over Suitland Parkway. One lane will be closed at 9 p.m., two at 10 p.m., and three at 11 p.m. All 聽lanes are expected to聽reopen by 5聽a.m. Wednesday morning. At least聽one lane of the Beltway will be open to traffic.
These overnight closures will allow crews to repair a puncture on the roadway. The puncture was found during maintenance on the bridge deck’s driving surface.
