Ƶapp Honored by the NAB and Press Club with Multiple Awards

Washington, D.C. – Ƶapp today announced it is a 2015 NAB Crystal Radio Award winner and the recipient of four National Headliner Awards including a first place award for Ƶapp.com.

Ƶapp is one of ten 2015 Crystal Radio Award winners that were selected among 50 finalists. The finalists were chosen by a panel of judges comprised of broadcasting professionals, community service organizations and public relations firms. The winners were announced during the NAB Show Radio Luncheon held April 14th at the national 2015 NAB Show in Las Vegas.

Ƶapp’s 2015 National Headliner accolades are:
• Radio stations Newscast, all markets – First Place for “September 4th, 6 p.m.”
• Radio stations Breaking News or Continuing Coverage of a Single News Event – Second Place for “Gaithersburg Plane Crash”
• Radio stations Feature and Human Interest Story, all markets – Second Place for “If This Violin Could Talk” by Jamie Forzato

The National Headliner Awards was founded by the Press Club of Atlantic City and is one of the oldest and largest annual contests recognizing journalistic merit in the communications industry. Since 1934, Headliner medallions have been presented to outstanding writers, photographers, daily newspapers, magazines, graphic artists, radio and television stations and networks, and news syndicates.

Over the years, Ƶapp has been recognized numerous times as a Radio Crystal Award recipient, once in 2005, 2010, 2013 and now in 2015. This year alone, Ƶapp has received 11 highly coveted journalism awards including several from the Virginia Associated Press Broadcasters.
